Journeys End

Journeys End was my final project for my color theory class at SCAD. The assignment was to create an original work using the color palatte of an existing work of art. The colors for this piece were taken from Alphonse Mucha's poster La Dame aux Camelias. I chose to do a digital illustration of my original characters, depicting them at a point near the end of their story; in other words, near their journeys end. Before starting my illustration I created a multimedia collage as concept art to help plan out my final piece. The final composition was inspired by both my collage and another of Mucha's prints, Primrose and Feather. The illustration includes associations based on color psychology as well as the language of flowers to show different traits associated with each of my characters.
